About the Role

The Relationship Manager is responsible for cultivating and managing relationships at the executive-level with corporate clients. They provide direct advisory services for plan design, fiduciary governance, and investment lineups for qualified plans, employer-sponsored executive benefit plans, and non-qualified plans. The role involves working closely with clients to optimize retirement strategies, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver educational and consultative services within Marsh McLennan Agency's East Region, a leader in the employee benefits marketplace committed to integrity, collaboration, passion, innovation, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as their primary point of contact for retirement plan consulting services.
  • Understand clients' business objectives and retirement plan goals to provide tailored solutions and recommendations.
  • Conduct comprehensive retirement plan reviews and assessments, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Provide expert guidance on plan design, compliance, investment options, and participant engagement strategies.
  • Stay current on retirement plan regulations and industry trends to ensure clients remain compliant and informed.
  • Assist clients in navigating complex regulatory requirements and reporting obligations.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop and implement effective investment strategies that align with their retirement plan objectives.
  • Monitor investment performance and provide ongoing recommendations for adjustments as needed.
  • Conduct educational sessions and workshops for clients and their employees to enhance understanding of retirement plan benefits and options.
  • Develop and distribute educational materials to support client initiatives.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including sales, compliance, and operations, to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Serve as a thought leader in the retirement industry, understanding fiduciary risks and financial implications for clients.

Requirements

  • A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in Retirement Services in a Relationship Management capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience with large clients, operating at the C-level regarding negotiations and relationship management.
  • Strong investment and fiduciary management knowledge.
  • Appropriate securities licenses required (FINRA Series 65/66).
  • Effective analytical, math, and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment and strong decision-making ability.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and internal departments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strong organizational, management, and account planning skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate independently and in a team environment, multitask, and meet deadlines.

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
  • Experience working in a high production team environment with a high degree of complexity.
  • Aptitude for learning internal systems, applications, and workflows.
