About the Role

The Reporting and Analytics Senior Analyst will be responsible for assisting in continuous improvement of business processes and reporting through planning, designing, prioritizing, testing, and implementation of business enhancement requests for finance and supply chain. The role involves performing sophisticated data analyses, recommending process improvements, creating and managing reports, and serving as a subject matter expert within the university's financial and operational systems at The Ohio State University.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the planning, designing, prioritizing, testing, and implementation of business enhancement requests for finance and supply chain.
Perform sophisticated analyses to interpret data sets from multiple sources to inform business decisions.
Recommend and strategize on potential business process enhancements to improve operations.
Lead and direct testing efforts related to report and business process design, tracking progress and status.
Create Workday Reporting for enterprise-wide reporting initiatives and break fixes, ensuring operational soundness.
Confer with report writers to design complex reports and assess requirements.
Lead sessions to gather requirements for reports and business process enhancements.
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert to respond to customer inquiries and support university-wide questions.
Create content and present new reporting and business process concepts to stakeholders and audiences.
Write enterprise-wide communications to showcase business process changes and reporting, and develop content for job aids and training.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of four (4) years of experience in finance, data analysis, OSU finance operations, or relevant business experience.
Proficiency in data analytics, including handling large data sets and manipulating data for business decisions.
Experience with documentation of processes within a finance background.
Demonstrated ability to build consensus across diverse business groups and influence outcomes.
Experience facilitating work groups and managing multiple priorities.
Effective and professional communication skills with employees, peers, and leadership.

Nice to Have

Experience in accounting, accounts receivables, customer contracts, expenses, or supplier accounts.
Deep knowledge of financial business processes.
Experience with Ohio State financial processes and systems.
Workday finance, security, and/or reporting background.

Qualifications

Educational background with a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
