About the Role

The Retail Marketing Director - US at Medik8 is a high-impact, strategic role responsible for leading retail marketing strategy and execution across US retail partners. Medik8 is a UK-based clinical skincare brand focused on science, innovation, and delivering visible results without compromise. The role involves driving retail activations, brand awareness, and loyalty both in-store and online, supporting the company's growth and expansion in the US market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and execute seasonal and long-term trade marketing plans aligned with brand goals and retailer priorities.
  • Own full 360° product launch execution—including toolkits, timelines, asset delivery, PDP content, and in-store support.
  • Partner closely with sales and key retailers on joint business planning, presentations, and market meetings.
  • Collaborate with Digital, Social, Media, and Global teams to drive visibility across in-store and online retailer platforms.
  • Manage promotional calendars, sampling programs, and budget allocations, tracking ROI and optimizing performance.
  • Brief and manage creative development for all retailer needs, including social, media, dotcom, and POS/POP.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for internal teams (Sales, Creative, VM, Education, PR, Product Development).
  • Analyze retailer sellout data, post-campaign performance, shopper behavior, and competitive activity to inform strategy.
  • Develop and lead seasonal and long-term retailer-specific marketing strategies.
  • Own end-to-end execution of product launches, exclusives, and promotional programs.
  • Create and distribute campaign toolkits, calendars, and launch timelines.
  • Partner with Global Marketing to align campaign messaging, creative, and content.
  • Manage retailer PDP asset development, review, and refine copy and visuals.
  • Monitor and manage trade marketing budgets, including sampling programs and forecasting.
  • Lead preparation of presentations and decks for retailer meetings and strategy sessions.
  • Develop accurate sales forecasts and streamline sales operations including inventory, pricing, and promotional strategies.
  • Create KPIs for wholesale department to measure sell-in to sell-thru impact.
  • Manage a team, currently with 1 direct report, with potential to scale and build the trade marketing team.
  • Lead retailer relationship management, including market week meetings, updates, and launch communication.
  • Respond to retailer requests promptly and clearly.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of retail/trade marketing experience in the beauty industry, preferably skincare.
  • Proven success in scaling a beauty brand at Sephora or Ulta.
  • Deep experience launching products and building 360° campaigns.
  • Strong relationships with Sephora or Ulta.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally across Sales, Creative, Education, and Digital teams.
  • Financially savvy with a strong understanding of ROI, retail KPIs, and trade marketing impact.
  • Previous full ownership of trade marketing spend budget.
  • Strategic thinker with a creative mindset and operational excellence.
  • Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passionate about the beauty consumer and what drives purchase behavior both in-store and online.
