SCRUM Master/Coach

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting and assisting team members in troubleshooting production issues through discussion with end users and technical resources.
• Furnishing professional advice to all levels of management including the senior leadership team and working to solve business problems.
• Mentor team members in Agile values, principles, and practices.
• Maintain JIRA and other information radiators for the teams.
• Collaborate with product owners to ensure mission aligned feature delivery.
• Monitor team velocity and promote agile discipline in support of stakeholder objectives.
• Facilitate Scrum Events such as Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective, ensuring that they are conducted according to Scrum principles.
• Ensure that the teams follow the Scrum framework.
• Coach and mentor the teams on Scrum principles, practices, and values.
• Identify and remove impediments that block the team's progress.
• Manage and prioritize the product backlog.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of Agile approaches, rules, practices, and deliverables.
• 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or member of a software development team.
• 5+ years supporting IT projects.
• Secret Clearance required.
• Experience with Scrum teams in various contexts.
• Experience in tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
• Experience in full software development life cycle.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
• Experience using MS Visio for updating diagrams.
• Experience working in Federal or State government environments.
• Ability to work independently and remotely.
• Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Certifications: SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Advanced Certified Scrum Master (A-CSM), or Professional Scrum Master (PSM).

Nice to Have

• Experience with SAFe frameworks and certifications.
• Experience supporting federal civilian agencies.
• Experience with remote work environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related experience supporting IT projects and working with Scrum teams.
