The Search Engine Marketing Specialist role is based at the GSS National Campus in Sioux Falls, SD, and involves planning, implementing, and managing the organization's SEM strategy to increase online visibility and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and manage the organization's overall SEM strategy.
  • Partner with media strategists to deploy search marketing tactics to increase online visibility and engagement.
  • Analyze research, data, or technology to understand user intent and identify opportunities for ongoing optimization.
  • Utilize SEO data to optimize SEM and PPC campaigns to minimize CPC and increase CTR.
  • Collaborate with the marketing analytics team to use site traffic data for informed decision-making on paid search performance.
  • Manage PPC campaigns across Search Ads 360, Google, and Bing.
  • Work closely with web and content teams to drive quality traffic, increase conversions, and maximize ROI.
  • Develop and implement SEM campaigns in partnership with Media Strategists.
  • Perform ongoing paid keyword discovery, expansion, and optimization.
  • Research and analyze competitor advertising keywords and links.
  • Identify KPIs, report key metrics, and coordinate reporting dashboards for stakeholders.
  • Conduct ongoing analysis, experimentation, and A/B testing to improve search-related activities.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, computer science, business information systems, programming, statistics, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience planning and implementing successful SEM strategies.
  • Experience in ecommerce is preferred.
  • Certification in Google Ads is required.
  • Proficiency with bid management tools (e.g., Search Ads 360), call tracking tools (e.g., DialogTech/Invoca, Marchex), digital analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Datorama), and SEO/SEM tools (e.g., Google Search Console, Conductor, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz).
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate information and provide evidence-based recommendations.
  • Proficiency in a variety of technical and web-based platforms.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet conflicting deadlines.

Nice to Have

  • Certifications in Google Ad Manager or Google Marketing Platform.
