About the Role

The Senior Analyst, Marketing Strategy & Analytics at Zip is a role that sits at the intersection of data, strategy, and growth. The role involves building models, wrangling data, and translating marketing performance into actionable investment insights to help Zip make smarter, faster growth decisions. This position is remote-first for US-based employees with an option to work in the Manhattan office, and it focuses on defining and analyzing key marketing metrics like CAC, LTV, and ROI to influence investment decisions and optimize marketing efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build Zip's next-generation marketing analytics foundation by architecting data models, metrics, and dashboards that measure CAC, LTV, ROI, and payback across paid media efforts.
  • Translate marketing performance into commercial insights, quantifying acquisition cost, marketing contribution to TTV/revenue, and return on ad spend across platforms like Google, Meta, and TikTok.
  • Lead the end-to-end development of marketing dashboards in Tableau, from sourcing raw data to designing metric logic and guiding implementation.
  • Partner with stakeholders across Marketing, Data, and Product to identify key data inputs, uncover gaps, and validate assumptions.
  • Solve ambiguous, first-of-their-kind analytics problems by using first-principles thinking to quantify outcomes, simulate trade-offs, and make recommendations.
  • Evaluate financing costs and downstream revenue implications of acquisition strategies, providing insights for tactical and strategic decisions.
  • Bring a technical lens to marketing analytics by stitching together data sources, building internal tooling, and automating workflows.
  • Embed AI tools and generative capabilities into analytics workflows to accelerate report generation, pattern recognition, and dashboard upkeep.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to Marketing and Commercial leaders, articulating insights on what’s working, what’s not, and where to invest next.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Commercial Strategy, Marketing Analytics, or Commercial Analytics, with experience in MarTech, fintech, big tech, management consulting, or marketing agencies a plus.
  • Hands-on ownership of performance measurement frameworks, including defining and calculating CAC, LTV, and marketing ROI.
  • Strong modeling ability in Excel/Google Sheets, with experience building from scratch and manipulating large datasets; experience with Tableau, SQL, or PowerBI is a plus.
  • Track record of influencing decisions through data, partnering with Growth, Marketing, and Data teams to drive investment or campaign shifts.
  • Experience synthesizing complex, ambiguous data into clear business insights emphasizing business value such as cost savings or revenue efficiency.
  • Proactive problem-solving mindset with the ability to operate autonomously and prioritize workstreams with minimal guidance.
  • Exposure to AI or automation in analytics workflows or a strong interest in integrating modern tools to improve reporting efficiency.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and project manage in matrixed environments.
  • Demonstrated ownership mindset, applying First Principles thinking to break down ambiguous problems and deliver high-impact projects from concept to execution.

  • Experience in MarTech, fintech, big tech, management consulting, or marketing agencies.

Qualifications
