About the Role

The Value-Based Care Analytics Developer, Senior designs, builds and optimizes data and analytics solutions that support the organization’s enterprise priorities and promotes its value-based care initiatives. This role develops analytical tools, data pipelines, and reporting solutions that drive insight into cost, quality, utilization, and risk under shared savings, capitation, and performance-based payment models. It involves working collaboratively with analytics product managers, analytics managers, and stakeholders across healthcare, operational, and financial domains to support data-driven decision-making within the Value-Based Care Institute (VBCI) products and analytics team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain analytics products and solutions (datasets, reporting, dashboards) that deliver insights to claims, clinical, and operational data for performance in value-based contracts, including monitoring KPIs such as total cost of care, quality measures, risk scores, utilization, and shared savings metrics.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of data management processes and analytics products, ensuring automation and alerting in performance monitoring.
  • Develop and maintain analytics frameworks supporting key value-based capabilities including member attribution, benchmarking, performance, stratification, and risk adjustment.
  • Understand and leverage various data sources, support data management and pipeline automation in partnership with data engineering, services teams, and third-party vendors including payors.
  • Work closely with value-based care analysts, analytics product managers, data science, and health economists to develop and execute on user stories.
  • Partner with IT and data governance teams to ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with applicable standards and policies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in data analytics, data analysis, or data science, with a bachelor’s degree considered sufficient.
  • Proven experience using data and analytics tools, including strong working experience with SQL and at least one analytics or visualization tool such as PowerBI, Tableau, or SigmaComputing.
  • Experience working in a modern cloud environment (Snowflake and/or Databricks) and with modern data management tools.
  • Experience working with healthcare data types including claims data, payor revenue/premium data, clinical data (HEDIS, HCCs), social determinants of health (SDOH), and operational data and KPIs.
  • Knowledge of and experience with electronic health records (EHRs) such as Epic, Cerner, eCW, Allscripts, Athena, and population health management platforms like Epic’s Value Based Care, Innovaccer, Arcadia, or Lightbeam.
  • Understanding of clinical workflows and clinical operations related to value-based care and population health.
  • Genuine curiosity and desire to build analytics applications that enhance user experience and reduce data access burdens.
  • Deep commitment to continuous learning and working within a cross-functional team including clinical and non-clinical stakeholders.
  • Experience working within an agile delivery environment (DevOps).

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of and experience with healthcare claims data and related claims analytics tools such as Milliman’s MedInsight, MedeAnalytics, or Tuva.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree or formal training in data analytics.
  • Formal training or work experience in data analytics, data analysis, or data science.
