About the Role

Working as part of an integrated cross functional team, Business Intelligence Senior Analysts are experts at turning data into information and knowledge, understanding how that information knowledge supports and enables key business processes, and communicating those insights for maximum business impact. Business Senior Analysts contribute to the business intelligence, reporting, and data analysis needs of the organization. They build an understanding of the business at a detailed level to identify and address critical issues, ensuring data is accurate, reliable, and accessible. They educate and train customers to use data as an analytical tool and work closely with stakeholders to define requirements, design dashboards, reports, and applications, and facilitate data-driven decision making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides clear, insightful analysis that tells a story and helps leaders make better decisions, using communication methods such as PowerPoint, Word, dashboards, etc.
  • Creates visual reports and dashboards that deliver insights through visual design expertise and thought leadership.
  • Analyzes, designs, codes, configures, tests, debugs, deploys, documents, and maintains self-service reporting assets and ETL processes for populating data warehouse assets and external data transfer.
  • Gathers and documents business program needs and translates them into technical solutions using visuals, data sources, metrics, and automation.
  • Presents technical solutions to key stakeholders and works with internal/external teams to define information needs and create solutions based on business, clinical, or project requirements.
  • Ensures processes and services are monitored for data accuracy, quality, and efficiency; participates in discovery sessions to identify data discrepancies.
  • Engages in process and quality improvement activities, including working with Data Governance to optimize data quality and transparency.
  • Participates in Agile ceremonies, determining project scope and dependencies, and communicates development needs across teams.
  • Leads and supports team standards, coaches less experienced analysts, and provides troubleshooting, maintenance, and technical guidance.
  • Performs data analysis such as trend analysis and correlation, interpreting multiple data sets to identify relationships and systemic business needs.
  • Translates business requests into long-term information strategies to guide future growth.
  • Supports data development, analytics, and quality improvement activities by understanding workflows across multiple business areas.
  • Works with data architects to verify relational and dimensional data models meet use cases and strategic goals.
  • Helps lead projects with varying complexity to deliver integrated technical solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, liberal arts, computer science, application programming, software development, information systems, database administration, mathematics, engineering, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
  • Knowledge of reporting tools and databases.
  • Experience working in Agile environments.
  • Strong visual design skills for reports and dashboards.
