Senior Competitive Intelligence Manager

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct deep-dive technical analysis of competitor offerings, track relevant announcements, identify impacts, and communicate with relevant stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain competitive intelligence collateral, including technical whitepapers, battlecards, presentations, and product comparisons.
• Provide actionable insights to product management, engineering, sales, and marketing teams, highlighting competitive advantages and disadvantages.
• Monitor market trends, industry developments, and competitor announcements to identify emerging threats and opportunities.
• Collaborate with sales and technical marketing teams to develop competitive positioning and messaging.
• Present competitive findings to internal stakeholders, ranging from technical teams to executive leadership.
• Install, configure, and maintain a realistic lab environment to support analysis and testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in a highly technical role such as Competitive Intelligence, Technical Marketing, Sales Engineering, or similar customer-facing/competitive engineering role.
• Robust technical understanding of Application Security concepts, including DDoS protection, WAF, API security, and Bot management, as well as App Performance technologies like CDN, DNS, and load balancing.
• Proven ability to independently install, configure, and troubleshoot complex networking and application security solutions.
• Experience with cloud platforms and SaaS offerings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to translate complex technical information into clear insights.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

• Direct experience working with vendors such as Akamai, F5, Fastly, AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure in a technical capacity.
• Familiarity with various network protocols and security standards.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, SQL) for automation and data analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in a technical or competitive intelligence role.
