About the Role

Walmart Creative Studio (WCS) is the in-house creative agency for Walmart. Our team develops breakthrough and distinctive omnichannel brand design systems that meet customer needs and drive business objectives while keeping our Fortune #1 brand relevant in culture. We use creativity and design to make Walmart an obvious choice for all. We are positioned as an internal creative agency hyper-focused on the customer experience across all channels, categories, campaigns, and touchpoints. We are ruthlessly focused on our customers, insight-driven creative strategies, and integrated solutions that build the brand and grow the business. The role involves conceptualizing and executing stories across multiple channels, with a focus on Health & Wellness and Mobile App campaigns, collaborating with partners, and maintaining high standards of quality and brand consistency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ideate, create, and execute 360 campaign creative across all channels (owned & paid) inspired by creative and business briefs.
  • Pursue ways that we can work better, faster.
  • Manage projects that are on-brief and polished, mitigating feedback, ultimately keeping workstreams on track.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, culture and consumer behaviors to inform creative decisions and maintain our brand's competitive edge.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and craft throughout the design and implementation process, ensuring that the final output meets or exceeds expectations.
  • Consistently apply our brand voice and visual ID guide best practices and standards for brand and seasonal connectivity, attribution and impact.
  • Manage copywriting projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with strategic objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in creative writing, advertising, or related field.
  • 5+ years copywriting experience in a professional advertising agency in a senior role.
  • Proven track record of creating and contributing to successful 360 campaigns.
  • Exceptional portfolio showcasing creative writing and conceptual thinking.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard creative tools and software including the Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Google Slides, and Figma.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate partners and connect across Walmart Creative Studio.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment leading campaigns.

  • Copywriting in a retail environment.
  • Developing copy concepts in a retail or marketing environment.
  • Working for or with creative agencies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Creative Writing, Advertising, or related field.
  • 2 years' experience in copywriting OR 4 years' experience in copywriting.
