Senior Data Engineer

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise-grade data solutions in Azure, including building scalable data pipelines and dimensional models in Synapse EDW.
• Support end-to-end machine learning workflows in Azure Machine Learning, including feature store integration, experiment tracking, model versioning, and deployment pipelines.
• Build and manage robust ETL/ELT pipelines in production environments.
• Work alongside Data Scientists to support real-time and batch data ingestion methods and tools.
• Develop dimensional and star-schema models for analytical workloads.
• Proficiently tune large-scale data queries using T-SQL.
• Understand and apply data architecture frameworks such as lakehouse, data mesh, and data vault modeling (preferred).
• Utilize scripting languages like Python or PySpark in data science pipelines (a plus).
• Implement and manage data and ML pipelines using Git-based workflows, DevOps, and CI/CD practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related fields with a focus on Azure Data Services.
• Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage (Gen2), and Azure Databricks.
• Experience supporting machine learning workflows in Azure Machine Learning.
• Strong background in building dimensional and star-schema models for analytical workloads.
• Proficiency in T-SQL and performance tuning of large-scale data queries.
• Experience building and managing ETL/ELT pipelines in production environments.
• Understanding of real-time and batch data ingestion methods and tools.
• Strong foundation in Git workflows, DevOps, and CI/CD for data and ML pipelines.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or comparable work experience.
• 6-8 years of relevant experience preferred.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with data architecture frameworks such as lakehouse, data mesh, and data vault modeling.
• Knowledge of Python, PySpark, or other scripting languages used in data science pipelines.
• Experience with Azure Cognitive Services or external ML API integrations.
• Understanding of industry trends and external expertise to accelerate learning.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree strongly preferred, or comparable work experience.
• 6-8 years of relevant experience preferred.

• Base salary range of $104,530.40 - $139,381.84.
• Annual discretionary bonus targeted at 3%.
