About the Role

The Senior Data Engineer at Fidelity is responsible for building and scaling data solutions such as data lakes, data warehouses, and reporting platforms to support and enhance business capabilities. The role involves designing technical solutions, working within autonomous and cross-functional teams, and contributing ideas to improve products. The ideal candidate embodies drive, confidence, a passion for technology, and a customer-centric mindset, while continuously learning and developing new skills.

Key Responsibilities

Help build solutions to support and scale data capabilities, including designing and delivering data lakes, data warehouses, and reporting platforms.
Work on re-engineering and automation efforts with business units to enable impactful straight-through processing.
Contribute ideas for product improvement and develop prototypes based on real-life feedback.
Collaborate with teams to develop best-in-class digital experiences for customers and associates.
Participate in meaningful discussions, drive technical initiatives, and stay current with emerging technologies.

Requirements

Hands-on experience in data engineering, data warehousing, and analytics technologies.
Working experience with relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, including SQL/PLSQL programming, performance tuning, data modeling, and data analysis.
Proven experience working in a cloud environment using AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Expertise in ETL lifecycle using Informatica Power Center and proficiency with PL/SQL / T-SQL stored procedures.
Ability with modern object-oriented programming languages such as Python, Scala, or Java.
Strong knowledge of cloud-native data warehousing and data lake solutions like Snowflake and Redshift.
Experience with DevOps, CI/CD tools like Jenkins, uDeploy, Terraform, CloudFormation.
Deep interest in exploring new technology stacks and building scalable systems supporting thousands of transactions per second.

Nice to Have

Experience with performance tuning and data analysis on relational databases.
Familiarity with comprehensive ETL lifecycle tools and frameworks.
Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with business units.
Knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and design patterns.
Experience with automation and re-engineering efforts in a financial services environment.

Qualifications

Formal experience in data engineering, data warehousing, and analytics technologies.
Proficiency with relational databases and SQL/PLSQL programming.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Knowledge of ETL tools like Informatica Power Center.
Programming skills in Python, Scala, or Java.
