Senior Data Engineer (GIS)

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Conducts the design, innovation and optimization of data extraction, ingestion and transformation processes.
• Facilitates the development and design of complex data architecture to process and store high-volume data sets.
• Enables the development of complex data pipelines; advocates for and implements data security and privacy measures.
• Conducts complex data quality and processing tasks using open source and cloud services.
• Provides technical expertise during critical incidents.
• Facilitates the adoption of best practices for data security and privacy and collaborates with other departments to ensure seamless data integration.
• Facilitates the implementation of continuous improvements in data processing methods and drives consistency and best practices across data engineering projects.
• Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions; participates in strategic planning sessions for data infrastructure.
• Oversees quality assurance and testing for data solutions.
• Mentors less experienced data engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of relevant Data Engineering experience.
• 5+ years proficiency performing information technology responsibilities with industry-standard GIS software (such as ESRI's ArcGIS).
• Strong expertise administrating enterprise geodatabases (SDEs), spatial analysis, and geospatial data administrator skills.

Nice to Have

• Strong expertise with industry standard models (such as ESRI's Utility Network, PODS, or UPDM) and data programming skills (such as Python, ESRI JavaScript API, Experience Builder, REST API, and SQL).
• Deep knowledge of ESRI products Portal, ArcGIS Server, SDE, GeoEvent Server, Image Server, Field Maps, Survey123, and other mobile applications.
• Experience developing and supporting ETL operations between GIS applications/database using FME Desktop or Server.
• Experience developing custom GIS solutions and GIS mobile applications.
• Experience operating an enterprise GIS within Azure cloud environments.
• Previous experience within the Oil and Gas industry preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
