Job Description

About the Role

The Senior Product Manager is responsible for elevating and modernizing 7-Eleven's customer, store, and franchisee facing experiences. They will lead a team of Product Managers to develop new experiences that transform the business and shape the company's digital future. The role involves defining product strategy, developing, launching, and enhancing products and services, working closely with software teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Seek to empathize with and understand the end user deeply and use that knowledge to determine the fastest path to deliver value.
  • Translate business goals and end user needs into product strategy; communicate direction and product priorities to the development team, other matrixed teams, and third-party partners.
  • Identify goals, metrics, and analytics to determine product value; continually make recommendations and refinements to the product backlog based on learnings.
  • Manage and groom the product's backlog; make future decisions based on the value that will be delivered.
  • Monitor research and competitive landscape to recommend the best solutions and ensure that products remain or become best in class.
  • Ensure that product directions balance both user needs and business goals of driving sales, improving efficiency, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Work with user research and testing teams to formulate, test, and refine assumptions and hypotheses through user research and testing.
  • Create, prioritize, and accept user stories; incorporate them into release planning.
  • Make product decisions that drive value on a daily basis.
  • Identify and consider pros, cons, issues, obstacles, dependencies, and value associated with features and enhancements.
  • Lead and mentor the team in standups, iteration planning sessions, product demos, and retrospectives.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into non-technical language for stakeholders.
  • Foster collaboration with team members (Engineering, UX, etc.) to drive value and resolve impediments.
  • Act as a proponent of modern agile development practices.
  • Advocate for the end user and stakeholder by understanding user needs.
  • Manage cross-functional team and stakeholder expectations to execute on product strategy.
  • Provide education to requestors to determine prioritization based on tangible benefits and/or user experience.
  • Guide junior team members in strategy, alignment, analysis, and execution tasks.
  • Participate in learning activities around modern agile design and development practices.
  • Participate in talent acquisition, development, and retention activities for the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in digital/agile product management, including at least 2 years in a leadership role managing product teams.
  • Proven experience in translating customer needs into product features and user interface design.
  • Proficiency in tools such as JIRA, Confluence, wireframing, and analytics software.
  • Significant experience working with design and engineering teams, managing full stack teams.

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • MBA or Master's degree.
  • Experience in retail or e-commerce, particularly in launching customer experiences.
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with third-party technology integrations.
  • Coaching, training, and facilitating change management.
