About the Role

The Senior Digital Program Manager at SEIU manages the union's executive officer's digital communications operations to promote the union's narrative and organizing work, further campaign objectives, and expand SEIU's online audiences and presence. The role involves working primarily on executive communications and supporting the digital department within a union dedicated to social justice, anti-racism, and collective action.

Key Responsibilities

  • Devises executive digital strategy and goals as part of the union's overall digital communications strategy.
  • Manages implementation of executive social media efforts.
  • Develops digital strategies for SEIU executive officers to ensure alignment with project and union goals.
  • Creates and oversees the creation of digital content, including videos.
  • Staffs officers at high-level engagements.
  • Serves as a key contact for digital communications with allies, partners, and vendors.
  • Assists with vendor management and oversight for the department.
  • Manages the work of digital team staff, directly supervising team members.
  • Plays a leadership role in the Digital Department, promoting an anti-racist organizational agenda.
  • Supports campaign and other work as needed.
  • Responsible for staff retention, including training, feedback, reviews, and career development.
  • Represents the Digital Department as assigned and performs other duties in support of department work.

Requirements

  • A minimum of five (5) years of related work experience or a combination of education and experience providing relevant knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Experience developing and implementing strategy on campaigns, including organizing, contract, political, and legislative campaigns, and working with community allies.
  • Thorough knowledge of digital strategies, especially related to paid and organic social media.
  • Experience with streaming and staffing events.
  • Excellent writing, verbal, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to develop knowledge and skills related to rapidly changing technology.
  • Deep knowledge of unions and advocacy organizations.
  • High level of discretion, judgment, and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to handle multiple priority projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Skill in using technology including online organizing and communications platforms.
  • Ability to speak, write, and proofread Spanish is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CRMs, Adobe Creative Suite, and web development tools is desired.
