The Senior Director, Marketing for Puppet is responsible for defining and executing the global marketing strategy to support the business unit's growth and financial goals, leading a dedicated marketing team, and collaborating with cross-functional leadership to drive business success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team with BU leadership to translate business objectives into go-to-market strategy; understanding the sales and marketing motion required to capture new business from target markets/target buyers.
  • Shape and lead the overall vision, strategy, and operations of the Puppet Marketing team.
  • Develop respectful and trusting relationships with cross-functional leadership including Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Support.
  • Effectively present Marketing initiatives, results, and impact to Executive team, and advocate for new initiatives, strategic changes, budgets, and resources.
  • Prioritize and support Sales initiatives with enablement & collateral, regional campaigns & events, and other field marketing activities.
  • Complete mastery and understanding of markets, competitive landscape, and how to win, using insights to inform and guide teams.
  • Ensure marketing teams continue to evolve and adopt best practices to support company growth.
  • Engage directly with customers and partners to enhance marketing strategy.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated success in leading high-performing marketing teams.
  • Experience in DevOps/Software industry desired.
  • Ability to listen and uncover insights, influence, and engage different audiences.
  • Data-driven and results-oriented mindset, willing to change based on new findings.
  • Experience reporting on and optimizing lead lifecycle metrics, pipeline, and conversion rates.
  • Exceptional operational skills and strategic thinking.
  • Highly organized, able to multitask, and manage demanding projects and deadlines.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in DevOps/Software industry

Qualifications

  • 10-15 years of experience in Marketing and/or management roles
