About the Role

The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to support a government customer at Wright Patterson Airforce Base in Dayton, OH. This role involves supporting technical and program management activities, including procurement, contracting, compliance, technical reporting, and stakeholder coordination. The position offers potential telework and/or remote support options and is focused on supporting DoD acquisition programs and medical research efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with technical and program management activities including AF budget/financial assessment and support obligation and expenditure reporting to include communicating with financial support staff; and contract development, management, and reporting to include verification of deliverables against contracts; procuring/receiving supplies/equipment; technical writing; noting and reporting program contractual discrepancies; communicating and coordinating contractual activities to appropriate parties.
  • Assist designated 711HPW/RHB technical professionals and management collecting procurement requirements, developing procurement packages, and disseminating information including project/program briefings, supply and equipment requirement deadlines, and procedural changes.
  • Assist with compliance of policies, procedures, standards, and regulations in support of the 711HPW contracting and procurement processes.
  • Assist in drafting a WBS along with engineering plans and assist with technical execution for each effort.
  • Assist with contracting and procurement data maintenance created for Government use or legally controlled by the Government in support of the functional activity, or required by AF publication, IAW with AF records management procedures.
  • Support the maintenance and updates of 711HPW/RH Project File System.
  • Provide and maintain purchase transaction statistics to resource managers and program management, as requested.
  • Assist with budget tracking, guidance of schedule, and assessing the performance of bench level engineering.
  • Provide capability to collect, analyze and appraise acquisition data to work with program managers to improve acquisition effectiveness and compliance.
  • Assist with drafting technical reports, proposals, presentations, and deliverables.
  • Perform work with multi-disciplinary and dynamic groups, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships within the division, directorate, and with external stakeholders.
  • Provide briefings and tours related to designated work, maintaining effective relationships with principal investigators, program managers, researchers, and support staff.
  • Recommend solutions to improve processes, maximize mission accomplishment, and support DoD modernization needs through resource estimates and analysis.

Requirements

  • Must possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree in a technical science or engineering discipline.
  • Must possess acquisition or engineering project/program manager background, with at least 5 years' demonstrated experience supporting DoD acquisition programs.
  • Must possess at least 2 years' experience managing military system development programs, including design reviews, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and system demonstration, testing, and evaluation.
  • Must demonstrate effective communication skills, including delivering briefings to senior military leaders and supporting project reviews.
  • Must have strong listening skills, attention to nonverbal cues, and proactive communication resolution abilities.
  • Must be able to create clear and concise technical reports and presentations.
  • Must have working knowledge of industry policies, procedures, standards, and regulations supporting the DAF.
  • Must have technical and analytical ability to define problems, collect data, and recommend actions based on guidelines.
  • Must be able to work independently, with attention to detail, organizational skills, initiative, and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote, and Project.
  • Must be able to be granted a Secret Clearance, with the investigation initiated immediately upon award.
  • Willing to sign an NDA.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and possess an active Secret Clearance.

Nice to Have

  • Possesses over 10 years of DoD Engineer experience.
  • Possesses over 5 years of DoD Program management experience.
  • Familiarity with military and medical terminology demonstrated by experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a technical science or engineering discipline.
  • At least 5 years supporting DoD acquisition programs.
  • At least 2 years managing military system development programs.
  • Active Secret Clearance.
