About the Role

Schneider Electric is seeking a Senior Frontend and Mobile App engineer to work on applications for web and mobile devices, focusing on products for advanced home and building automation with smart energy management. The role involves extending and improving existing applications, building new cross-platform solutions, and collaborating with design and engineering teams to deliver high-quality, maintainable software in a hybrid work environment based in Belgrade/Novi Sad.

Key Responsibilities

Extend and improve existing TypeScript applications like the 'Wiser KNX' app (React Native, Angular) available on Play Store and Apple Store.
Build new cross-platform mobile and web applications.
Build and evolve a set of Design System components in collaboration with the Design Team for wider use at Schneider Electric.
Ensure good coding practices and drive towards maintainable, testable architecture.
Iterate quickly and deliver continuously.
Mentor and support other engineers.

Requirements

5+ years of professional frontend development experience.
Experience creating responsive UX implementations from Figma designs.
Knowledge of TypeScript & JavaScript, CSS, HTML.
Experience with frontend build tooling and project scaffolding (node, npm, webkit).
Experience with React Native + Expo for building cross-platform mobile applications.
Ability to build accessible user interfaces according to accessibility standards (WCAG, EU Accessibility Act).
Familiarity with cybersecurity principles as applied to frontend development.
Familiarity with data privacy considerations.
Experience with RESTful APIs and cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
Experience with mobile and web analytics.
Ability to write effective unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
Basic understanding of Java Spring Boot microservices to improve small parts of backend code is a plus.

Nice to Have

Full-stack capability to jump into Java Spring Boot microservices code.
Experience with cloud platforms, especially Azure.
