About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Concept, design, and execute creative assets for all PetSmart's brand across multiple platforms including web/app, emails, social media, gift cards, packaging, and print.
• Carry out Visual Design Strategy in accordance with PetSmart's brand identity and Loyalty program guidelines to produce engaging creative content.
• Work collaboratively with team members and clients to develop creatively sound solutions.
• Be a reliable teammate, thrive under tight deadlines, and produce high-quality work consistently on-brand.
• Proactively provide insights on new technology and design trends.
• Manage projects of various sizes, prioritize multiple requests, and meet or beat deadlines.
• Build strong relationships and communicate effectively with designers, creative directors, VPs, project managers, and clients.
• Present and sell your work, clearly explaining the creative rationale behind design decisions.
• Own projects from start to finish, with a deep understanding of PetSmart's Loyalty program to drive engagement and member acquisition.
• Handle post-production photography work as needed, integrating photography into designs effectively.
• Contribute to all stages of the creative process from concept to delivery, and iterate based on feedback.
• Bring innovative ideas to elevate the brand message and execute with minimal oversight.

Requirements

• Senior Graphic Designer/Art Director with 6+ years of professional design experience.
• Well versed in industry-standard creative applications: Figma, XD, Adobe Creative Suite, and MS Office applications.
• Must have an impressive portfolio demonstrating talent in typography, animation, layout, photography, and color across all platforms.
• Strong animation skills are required.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet commitments and follow through.
• Ability to present ideas confidently and sell concepts to others.
• Professionalism, flexibility, and composure under stressful situations.
• Strategic and critical thinking with strong problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, proactive, with a positive and energetic attitude.
• Ability to incorporate feedback quickly and positively.
• Experience working with Brand Guidelines and Creative Briefs.

Nice to Have

• Experience in print and production is a plus.
• Animation skills beyond basic proficiency are a plus.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional design experience.
• BS/BA in graphic design or related field (preferred but not required).
