Senior IT Infrastructure Project Manager

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Lead complex IT projects across core infrastructure domains including Data Center, Hosting, Cloud, Network, End User Computing, Security, Mergers & Acquisitions, Applications, and related areas.
• Manage projects from initiation through implementation, training, and operational handoff, ensuring delivery on schedule, within scope, and budget.
• Develop detailed project plans, including resource acquisition, task sequencing, risk management, and contingency strategies.
• Oversee project budgets, forecasts, and cost models, ensuring financial accountability and transparency.
• Conduct regular status reviews and communicate project progress, challenges, and successes with stakeholders at all levels.
• Apply technical knowledge to guide infrastructure initiatives such as cloud migrations, network upgrades, and data center expansions.
• Collaborate with IT and business leaders to define project scope, goals, and success criteria.
• Translate business requirements into clear, actionable insights for technical teams and stakeholders.
• Design, implement, and improve project management methodologies, tools, and templates.
• Lead adoption of capacity and demand management practices, including intake prioritization and chargeback models.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment, providing mentorship and conflict resolution.
• Manage vendor relationships, including contract and SOW oversight.
• Facilitate communication across business units, IT departments, and external partners.
• Develop and maintain project portfolios and status updates.
• Conduct project meetings, presentations, and reviews, including post-project evaluations.
• Operate effectively within both Waterfall and Agile project management frameworks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; or associate degree with 8 years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager within IT infrastructure and operations.
• Success leading major infrastructure initiatives such as cloud migrations, network upgrades, and data center builds.
• Strong knowledge of project management tools like MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Planner, and Azure DevOps.
• Experience managing project budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
• Experience with vendor management, including SOW development and contract oversight.
• Certification such as PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, PRINCE2, PgMP, or PfMP is required.
• Ability to work non-standard hours and handle escalations as needed.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain high team morale and foster collaboration.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, create clarity, and influence cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have

• Further education via an M.B.A. is considered a plus.
• Experience developing a business case is desired.

Qualifications
