About the Role

The Senior Marketing Manager for US Personal & Business Banking Deposits Lifecycle Marketing at BMO is responsible for developing and executing revenue-oriented marketing retention strategies to maximize customer engagement and retention throughout the entire customer journey. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to build omni-channel customer journeys, leveraging data streams and marketing automation tools to deliver personalized experiences, and maintaining an understanding of BMO Deposit products to drive engagement and limit attrition across segments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes customer lifecycle marketing strategies, including targeted promo offers, email journeys, digital banking assets, direct mailers, and SMS, to increase customer engagement, digital adoption, cross-sell, and retention.
  • Manages strategic briefs, tactical plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Analyzes customer preferences, behavior, and past interactions to inform marketing strategy and develop highly targeted communications across the customer journey.
  • Creates and manages customer segmentation and targeting strategies to optimize the customer experience.
  • Presents marketing strategies and reporting effectively to senior leadership to support decision making.
  • Develops and maintains a testing framework to continuously improve campaign performance and customer experience.
  • Breaks down strategic problems, analyzes data to provide insights and optimizations, and monitors progress against milestones.
  • Builds and produces reports and dashboards to understand the business impact and trends of communications.
  • Coordinates and engages with other marketing team members to align on broader retention goals.
  • Collaborates with internal and external teams, including product, design, analytics, and vendors, to develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in marketing, advertising, communications, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, or communications; MBA or related graduate degree preferred.
  • Experience in lifecycle marketing and developing customer communications plans.
  • Advertising and/or creative agency experience is an asset, with a preference for financial services marketing experience.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proactive, deadline-driven, with strong project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with Workfront or similar project management software is highly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build partnerships within a matrixed organization.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to evaluate creative against strategic objectives and brand standards.
  • Results-driven with strong analytical skills, including gathering and analyzing data, building dashboards, and storytelling for leadership.
  • Comfortable working in high-growth, ambiguous environments and in matrixed organizations.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and knowledge of financial marketing platforms such as FIS is preferred.

Nice to Have

  • MBA or related graduate degree.
  • Experience with financial marketing platforms through FIS.
  • Advanced experience with Workfront or similar project management tools.
  • Experience in advertising and/or creative agencies.
  • Experience in digital banking assets and omni-channel marketing.
