About the Role

In this role, you will work cross-functionally to guide products from conception to launch by connecting the technical and business worlds. You can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development. Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc., to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We’re responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users. The auction is the heart of our Search Ads business, a highly sophisticated system that decides which ads are shown for a given query, how these ads are ranked, and how much advertisers pay for a click. We are a data-driven team with a user-focused mindset, dedicated to showing relevant and helpful ads that meet user needs while driving value for advertisers. Our mission is to ensure a high-quality user experience on Search Ads, focusing on long-term benefits for users, advertisers, and our business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive development and secure buy-in for a product vision that identifies, defines, and supports the overall product narrative and direction, achieving an outcome that is greater than the sum of its parts.
  • Lead and harmonize processes to define, identify, collect, and track appropriate product or business metrics, both quantitative and qualitative for new or existing products or business ventures.
  • Develop deep insights of user and advertiser needs and translate these insights into product requirements.
  • Manage validation of market size and opportunity (e.g., user-based, strategic opportunity, revenue).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
  • 3 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch.
  • Ability to communicate complex topics, and switch between high-level concerns (strategy, macroeconomic effects) and low-level issues in conversation.

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree in a technology or business related field.
  • 5 years of experience working cross-functionally with engineering, UX/UI, sales, finance, and other stakeholders.
  • 4 years of experience in a role preparing and delivering technical presentations to senior leadership.
  • Experience with Ads Quality products (ranking, content retrieval or disabling, ML model development, etc.).
  • Experience with auction theory and related disciplines (e.g., game theory).

Benefits & Perks

  • US base salary range for this full-time position is $183,000-$271,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
  • Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location, with individual pay influenced by work location, skills, experience, and education.
  • Additional benefits include bonus, equity, and other benefits as outlined by Google.
