About the Role

The Senior Project Manager will lead and serve a team of personnel assigned to a product implementation or upgrade, and depending on project size and scope, may be assigned specific clients to manage. This role is accountable for project deliverables, timelines, milestones, and budgeting, with a focus on creating and maintaining project plans, estimating work effort, allocating resources, and delivering excellent customer service. The position may also include mentoring other Project Managers within the PMO organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop PMO organization project strategy and data analytics, and implement methodologies for multiple ongoing projects.
  • Provide thought leadership and mentorship to Project Managers & Project Coordinators within the PMO organization, as required.
  • Develop, update, and actively manage a comprehensive project plan, including tasks, start and end dates, work effort, resource assignments, milestones, and critical path.
  • Actively lead all facets of a project as its key owner, including project planning, delivery execution, and customer engagement.
  • Be accountable for the successful completion of a project's deliverables using PMO standards and methods.
  • Manage project scope and changes in accordance with change control procedures, maintain RAID logs and other critical documentation.
  • Drive collaboration between functional and technical teams and customers to achieve milestones and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with PMO managers and Professional Services leadership to secure resources for a project.
  • Serve as a primary point of escalation for client and internal stakeholders, communicate risks proactively, and manage expectations.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and facilitate meetings and onsite activities, ensuring agendas, notes, and action items are captured and distributed.
  • Document and report on all project matters in a timely fashion.
  • Manage resource bookings, time entry, and administrative tasks related to billing and workforce planning.
  • Adopt organizational best practices for process, documentation, and use of systems.
  • Draft Statement of Work (SOW) or Change Request (CR) as appropriate.
  • Responsible for larger, more complex strategic accounts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience as a project manager in healthcare, healthcare insurance, healthcare consulting, software (SaaS) industry, or relevant technical consulting field.
  • Prior client product implementation experience.
  • Experience with MS Project for project planning.
  • Experience in project governance, capacity planning, and project budgeting.
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership, assertive follow-through, and a passion for customer satisfaction.
  • Proficient technical understanding of software development life cycle, application design, integration, and hosting technologies.
  • Excellent verbal, organizational, and written skills.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Ability to travel as required (25% or less).
  • Ability to work across all time zones.

Nice to Have

  • PMI certification (PMP).
  • Working knowledge of the healthcare industry (Medicaid, Medicare, and Commercial) and related compliance and quality aspects.
  • Experience analyzing project data and statistics using business applications.
