About the Role

As a Senior Python with FAST API engineer, you will make an impact by developing applications. You will be a valued member of the Insurance team and work collaboratively with manager, primary team, or other stakeholders and teams. Cognizant will only consider applicants for this position who are legally authorized to work in the United States.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and development of software applications using FAST Search API Flask Django and Python to meet business requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.
Oversee the implementation of robust and scalable solutions that enhance operational efficiency and drive business growth.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Ensure the integration of software solutions with existing systems maintaining seamless functionality and performance.
Conduct thorough testing and debugging of applications to ensure high-quality deliverables and minimize defects.
Monitor and optimize application performance implementing enhancements as needed to meet evolving business needs.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies incorporating relevant advancements into project development.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables ensuring successful project execution.
Document technical specifications and project progress maintaining clear and comprehensive records for future reference.
Facilitate effective communication between technical and non-technical team members ensuring a shared understanding of project goals.
Drive innovation by proposing and implementing new ideas and solutions that align with the company’s strategic objectives.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, identifying opportunities for increased efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in software development with a focus on web applications.
Strong proficiency in FAST Search API, Flask, Django, and Python with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
Demonstrate expertise in Industry Essentials with the ability to apply domain knowledge to software development projects.
Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
Show strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Display a commitment to continuous learning and professional development staying abreast of industry advancements.
Demonstrate a proactive approach to project management with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Nice to Have

Experience working on cloud-based applications or services.
Knowledge of additional programming languages or frameworks.
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

Qualifications

Relevant professional experience in software development, specifically 5+ years in web applications.
