About the Role

Join Dell Technologies as a Technical Staff, Engineering Technologist in Austin, Texas, where you'll be involved in applied research and advanced engineering to develop new products, materials, and processes. The role focuses on assessing industry and competitive environments, leading technology investigations, analyzing industry capabilities, and influencing product architecture and strategies to ensure product leadership and social impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technology investigations and perform strategic analysis of industry capabilities.
  • Develop recommendations that influence technical product strategy and product definitions.
  • Engage with design teams, systems engineering, marketing, suppliers, and business leaders to align product architecture with strategic goals.
  • Serve as an expert in the field and as a principal advisor.
  • Apply established principles and leverage professional expertise to develop innovative solutions.
  • Address complex issues using deep expertise in theories, practices, and design.
  • Develop solutions with sound judgment, focusing on long-term implementation aligned with strategic goals.
  • Deliver results that impact multiple functions and contribute to organizational effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of product technologies, system-level integration, and specialized engineering methods.
  • Effectively interface with suppliers to drive research and ensure delivery of valuable products and services.
  • Represent the company in negotiations with vendors, OEMs, and internal teams to support strategic partnerships.
  • Deliver compelling presentations on technologies, vendor offerings, and the competitive landscape.
  • Mentor and lead peers within the technical community, aligning efforts with business goals.
  • Typically requires 15+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 12+ years with a Master's, or 8+ years with a PhD, or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 15+ years of related experience, or
  • Master's degree with 12+ years of related experience, or
