You will be working within Wabtec's Train Control Office Systems (TCOS) group, developing and maintaining a suite of products and applications related to train management and control systems, collaborating closely with engineering managers, development teams, product managers, and customers to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead development of TMDS products and supporting applications through daily scrum meetings with a global team.
  • Work with scrum team and release engineer on work item priorities and acceptance criteria.
  • Design scalable, stable systems across markets.
  • Analyze and fix production issues.
  • Ensure adherence to guidelines through peer reviews.
  • Mentor team members and guide problem-solving efforts.
  • Manage projects through their full lifecycle.
  • Implement DevOps practices and software design best practices.
  • Partner with product line managers and customers to ensure user stories reflect the expected requirements.
  • Coordinate with system engineers and product owners managing components to document and coordinate ICD requirements with software integrations.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Computer Science, MIS, Software Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 years of application development experience with the .NET framework using C#, VB.NET, and SQL Server.
  • Experience leading development of entire applications and/or large features.
  • Solid desktop application development, web/Windows services (SOA) experience, and good understanding of Microsoft platform.
  • Strong practical knowledge of OOP, design patterns, data modeling, and database design.
  • Experience working with a geographically distributed team in different time zones.
  • Proven experience working in and managing an Azure DevOps environment.
  • Good to have knowledge of domain modeling and entity modeling.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, quick learner, results-oriented, with a focus on quality.
  • Ability to develop credibility and positive relationships with peers and management.

Nice to Have

  • Dispatching/Railroad knowledge and experience.
  • Experience with business process analysis (current state, future state, gap analysis).
  • Ability to transform unstructured or ambiguous information into clear, documented artifacts.
  • Understanding of detailed technical processes and dependencies related to technology stacks.
  • Familiarity with middleware messaging systems, microservices, SQL/No SQL databases.
  • Experience with networking and data transfer protocols.
  • Knowledge of system installation best practices.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps and Visual Studio.
  • Experience with Windows, .NET, and Web/IIS configurations.

Qualifications

  • Educational background in Computer Science, MIS, Software Engineering, or related field.
