About the Role

The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for the design, architecture, and development of scalable micro services as a building block of the Accolade Cloud Platform. This role involves technical depth, ownership of the complete lifecycle of services, and mentorship of team members. The position is based in Houston with a hybrid work model requiring on-site presence 2-3 days per week. The company, Transcarent, has partnered with Accolade to create a comprehensive health and care experience serving over 20 million people, offering personalized health solutions and innovative care services.

Key Responsibilities

Work with Product Management to define the scope and requirements.
Design, architect, and plan the delivery of scalable micro services and other proposed solutions.
Hire and build a team to deliver the product.
Meet expectations and deliverables on time with high quality for both team and individual contributions.
Effectively communicate status, manage stakeholder expectations, and demonstrate technical, analytical, and creative skills.
Communicate effectively in both technical and business environments.

Requirements

Experience in designing, architecting, and developing scalable web applications, including micro services and storage.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in building web services, REST APIs, and back-end development.
Solid understanding of full stack web development on Open Source Technologies and Java, ReactJS, distributed database technologies such as RDS, ElasticSearch, DynamoDB, Amazon Aurora on AWS.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Experience working in a highly agile, collaborative, innovative, and flexible environment.
Strong foundation in Modern DevOps culture.
Experience in healthcare, especially with HIPAA compliance systems, is preferred.
