About the Role

Senior Software Engineer, Converse Marketing Tech (ATL or Boston) at Nike. The role involves working on cloud projects within Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC), balancing hands-on development with technical mentorship. The ideal candidate will have expertise in SFMC build skills, DevOps fluency, and a product mindset focused on privacy-first consumer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Design and build new SFMC capabilities across Journey Builder, Email Studio, Mobile Studio, and Marketing Cloud APIs.
Engineer and maintain consent and preference flows that pass data bi-directionally between Tealium tags, TrustArc CMP, and SFMC audiences in near real-time.
Write performant AMPscript, SSJS, and SQL to drive dynamic content and segmentation.
Automate deployments and testing pipelines via GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and serverless functions in AWS.
Serve as feature lead on sprint-scale initiatives, providing design reviews and mentoring junior contractors while partnering with Product, Privacy/GRC, and Consumer Marketing stakeholders.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or related field, or suitable combination of education, experience, and training.
5+ years of hands-on engineering in SFMC or comparable martech stacks, including Journey Builder and API integrations.
Expert-level coding in AMPscript, SSJS, SQL, JavaScript; strong Git workflow discipline; experience automating CI/CD with GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
Proven record leading project workstreams or acting as feature owner in agile squads (Level-35 IC).
Working knowledge of AWS services (Lambda, S3) and REST/SOAP integrations.
Familiarity with consent-management concepts and tag-management platforms (Tealium, TrustArc).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to simplify complex technical topics for non-technical partners.

Nice to Have

Salesforce Marketing Cloud and/or Tealium/TrustArc certifications.

Qualifications

Experience with SFMC, Journey Builder, API integrations, AMPscript, SSJS, SQL, JavaScript.
Experience automating CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
Knowledge of AWS Lambda and S3 services.
Understanding of consent-management and tag-management platforms.
