About the Role

The Senior Specialist, Strategic Partnerships & Global Health Innovation, reporting to the Vice President of Strategic Partnership and Health Innovation, will lead market research and data analysis for diverse donors while supporting donor cultivation and relationship management. The role involves creating and implementing a data-informed fundraising program to support MSH's mission of improving health systems and saving lives globally. Additionally, the Senior Specialist will provide administrative support to the President & CEO, managing schedules, coordinating meetings, and handling communications to ensure effective leadership support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support MSH Senior Leadership and Management in diverse donor engagement opportunities.
  • Use Salesforce and other systems to track and document research and engagement activities linking MSH product and program opportunities with potential clients.
  • Coordinate and support meetings with existing and new donors and partners, including meetings with the MSH CEO, ensuring participants have appropriate briefing materials.
  • Develop PowerPoint presentations, web content, and other communications for senior leadership and the MSH Board.
  • Operate as an MSH liaison with select foundations and corporations.
  • Represent MSH at external events and share detailed notes.
  • Identify new business opportunities, ensure up-to-date donor knowledge, and coordinate geographic relationships with MSH staff, partners, and consultants.
  • Support organizational fundraising efforts with desk research, materials, and training.
  • Assist in planning and executing fundraising events and campaigns.
  • Support donor relations and communicate effectively with donors via phone, email, and social media.
  • Create marketing materials to encourage long-term donor engagement.
  • Develop donor appreciation strategies.
  • Track donor/prospect data and ensure timely acknowledgment of gifts.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for staff and board meetings.
  • Contribute to preparing for pitch meetings and writing grant proposals.
  • Identify, analyze, and disseminate information on priority prospects, stakeholder groups, and funding trends.
  • Conduct market research and identify key grant opportunities.
  • Work with the CEO's office to support engagement strategies, meeting preparation, and follow-up.
  • Manage the CEO's calendar, coordinate travel and expenses, and assist with scheduling leadership meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in international public health, business, sales, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4-6 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, including major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, and special events.
  • Experience with global public health is highly preferred.
  • Excellent research, data analysis, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to network and cultivate relationships with funders and partners ethically and appropriately.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including creating compelling donor communications and marketing materials.
  • Strong collaboration skills and success in managing diverse internal and external relationships.
  • Ability to coordinate teams, organize work, prioritize, and meet deadlines in multicultural environments.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities across time zones.
  • Experience with fundraising software and donor databases.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English; fluency in French, Spanish, or Portuguese is a bonus.
  • Prior experience living and working in a LMIC is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work in an office environment and travel domestically and internationally (up to 10%).

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in relevant fields.
  • 4-6 years of nonprofit fundraising experience.
