About the Role

The Senior Strategic Account Executive (SSAE) at Ansys is responsible for building long-term, strategic relationships with key global customers and partners to secure sustainable revenue through multi-year deals. They lead account management for high-value, complex, and/or global accounts, aiming to achieve and exceed sales quotas, identify new growth opportunities, and foster strong partnerships. The role involves understanding customer priorities, articulating the value of Ansys products, and contributing to the broader success of the team, including mentoring junior members and providing accurate forecasts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs sales activities, establishes, develops, and maintains business relationships with key customer stakeholders to maintain renewal business and generate new business to meet annual sales quota.
  • Understands how the competition presents their value proposition and positions Ansys software as a superior alternative.
  • Utilizes industry knowledge and networks to identify long-term revenue growth opportunities.
  • Identifies and defines solutions where Ansys offerings can be applied, delivering compelling customer presentations in coordination with technical teams.
  • Collaborates with account teams, product specialists, business partners, and other functions within Ansys to ensure a synergistic approach to account management.
  • Facilitates regular touchpoints such as management review meetings, trainings, seminars, and info days to strengthen relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Documents customer capabilities, success metrics, and ROI to demonstrate Ansys' value and enhance sales profitability.
  • Develops sales and technical partnerships to uncover and address key technical challenges and pain points.
  • Establishes and leverages executive champions within customer organizations to influence decision-makers and key influencers.
  • Researches, analyzes, and maintains information about accounts, including customer problems, goals, competitors, and issues.
  • Facilitates multiyear deal contract negotiations and creates ROI-based proposals to secure wins for both the customer and Ansys.
  • Maintains a healthy sales pipeline, accurately enters data into Salesforce, and completes administrative tasks such as quotations, order processing, and contract documentation.
  • Remains knowledgeable about Ansys products and services to support sales efforts.
  • Coaches and supports the success of less experienced sales professionals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in technical, engineering, business, or related field and 8+ years of experience, or 10+ years of experience.
  • Demonstrated success in technical sales positions, growing key accounts into enterprise accounts.
  • At least 4 years of experience as a senior/key/named account manager.
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities proactively with little supervision.
  • Proven executive presentation and persuasion skills.
  • Excellent long-term strategic planning skills.
  • Ability to navigate complex sales and customer issues independently.
  • Strong networking skills to develop and maintain business relationships.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team-building abilities.
  • Ability to coach others on complex matters.
  • Fluent in English and the local language of the territory.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%.
