About the Role

The Senior Vice President of Engagement Marketing at Rue Gilt Groupe is a strategic leadership role responsible for developing and executing the end-to-end customer engagement strategy across multiple platforms. The role involves driving profitable growth by transforming customer relationships through innovative, personalized marketing programs that leverage AI and data, with a focus on maximizing engagement, retention, and lifetime value. Reporting to the CMO, the leader will influence company strategy and collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as Merchandising, Planning, Creative, Finance, Product, and Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set Vision & Strategy: Architect and lead the customer engagement marketing strategy aligned with business goals and customer lifecycle stages.
  • Define the future of loyalty—re-imagining program structure, perks, and economics to deepen member engagement and grow share of wallet.
  • Own segmentation, messaging, and cadence strategies for customer journeys incorporating AI to personalize every touchpoint and increase message-driven visitation and revenue (onboarding, re-engagement, win-back, etc.).
  • Build a forward-looking roadmap for AI-powered engagement, partnering cross functionally to pilot emerging technologies and create a competitive advantage.
  • Lead & Inspire: Grow a high-performing team across CRM, lifecycle marketing, loyalty, personalization, and digital communications.
  • Champion customer-first thinking and ensure the customer voice shapes strategy, innovation, and brand touchpoints.
  • Lead by example, embodying company values and creating an inclusive, purpose-driven environment.
  • Collaborate with Analytics and Data Science Teams to deliver actionable insights and use data-driven storytelling to identify growth opportunities.
  • Fuel innovation through testing & experimentation, leveraging A/B and multivariate testing to improve engagement, loyalty, and shopping behaviors.
  • Measure and manage KPIs, ensuring clarity on what’s working and its impact on the business.
  • Own and optimize the Engagement Marketing budget, ensuring impactful investment and measurable ROI.
  • Translate performance data into insights, sharing results and trends with the executive team and recommending strategic growth opportunities.

Requirements

  • Brings 12+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior role focused on engagement, CRM, or lifecycle marketing for B2C brands.
  • Has a proven track record of driving measurable growth through customer-centric strategies that elevate brand experience and deepen loyalty.
  • Possesses deep fluency in marketing technology, data infrastructure, and omnichannel campaign execution.
  • Expert in customer journey mapping, segmentation, loyalty programs and design, and behavioral targeting.
  • Acts as a true player-coach—building, mentoring, and inspiring high-performing teams while staying close to results.
  • Communicates with clarity and influence, distilling insights into an inspiring vision for diverse audiences.
