About the Role

If you are a Virtualization Software Development professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! We are based in Austin, Texas, and work as part of cross-functional agile teams responsible for developing our state-of-the-art process control systems used by top companies in chemical, life sciences, and energy industries. The role involves enhancing and maintaining existing products as well as developing and testing the next generation of DeltaV and DVS, including desktop, web applications, real-time embedded firmware, controllers, and field devices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate - Foster a creative atmosphere, review and provide detailed feedback on peers' design and code, participate in agile activities like sprint planning and retrospectives, and engage in Hackathons, Tech-talks, and Communities of Practice.
  • Innovate - Develop technologies to maintain market leadership using the latest tools and frameworks, create, debug, and validate software issues on unreleased products and customer environments.
  • Automate - Write automated unit tests and system-level tests to build automation pipelines and ensure release-ready products.
  • Iterate - Help the scrum team continuously improve its environment and processes.
  • Be Team Obsessed - Engage in collaborative planning and seek to improve team performance and deliver results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering degree.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience designing and developing embedded real-time firmware/software in C# and Javascript.
  • Experience in test-driven development, preferably using NUnit, GoogleTest, or similar frameworks.
  • Experience with Agile Testing Methodology and Testing Tools.
  • Experience working in Git.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related engineering degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in Virtualization.
  • Experience in WMI, Powershell, etc.
  • Experience working in an Agile Scrum Team.
  • Experience working in a Continuous Integration environment.
  • Experience in leading projects from ideation to shipped release.
  • Knowledge and experience working in the process control industry.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering or computer science field.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.
