About the Role

The Social & Digital Media Manager assists the VP of Corporate Communications with developing and implementing Goodwill's external and internal communication and corporate marketing plans. This position is responsible for managing marketing and public relations staff and is a member of the Corporate Office Team. The role involves creating digital content, managing social media platforms, overseeing digital campaigns, and fostering community engagement to support the organization's mission and branding efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, curate, and manage the agency's digital marketing efforts by developing relevant content topics to reach target audiences including customers, donors, clients, and potential employees.
  • Develop a community of active users and ensure content aligns with the agency's branding and marketing strategy.
  • Create, track, and execute budgets for all paid social media and digital tools.
  • Monitor and report on success metrics of online paid advertising campaigns across channels such as Google Ads, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok, X, and others.
  • Monitor social media platforms and actively participate in online conversations to build brand awareness, drive sales, mission engagement, and donations.
  • Manage online reputation and respond to customer questions and concerns using Chatmeter platform.
  • Assist in planning and executing marketing campaigns and events as part of the Public Relations and Marketing team.
  • Coordinate and recommend social and digital tools, best practices, and strategies to optimize outreach efforts.
  • Explore and establish a presence on new social media platforms as appropriate.
  • Lead graphic design of marketing materials including newsletters, retail fliers, signage, and collateral.
  • Manage influencer marketing initiatives and foster relationships with local bloggers/influencers.
  • Assist in planning, promotion, and execution of special events.
  • Translate concepts into engaging digital content to increase website traffic and search engine results.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with the SEO agency and manage Google AdWords grant.
  • Manage online listings across search engines.
  • Maintain media archives, publications, media consent forms, and conduct retail site audits.
  • Order printing materials and perform general administrative duties related to media and marketing.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.
  • Technical computer skills in programs needed for the position.
  • Interest in emerging technologies including social media, digital media, and analytics.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Experience developing and executing marketing plans.
  • Experience with event planning and management.
  • Experience with online digital media, SEO techniques, web analytics, and social media tools.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, and Flash.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Goal-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and long hours as needed.
  • Self-starter with dependability and a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to engage in prolonged sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 10 lbs.
  • Valid driver's license in good standing.
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, public relations, communications, marketing, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in marketing, communications, and public relations (preferred).
