About the Role

Waste Connections is looking for a Social Media Specialist here in our Corporate office in the Woodlands, TX. The role involves developing and managing content across various social media platforms, monitoring performance, and supporting digital asset management to enhance the company's online presence and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Content Development: Daily content development including Hero/Driver stories, positive customer reviews, Fan Friday's, sharing content, and recruitment posts for individual sites' job fairs.
Schedule content for review and approval, create stock content for the field to pull from.
Manage Facebook pages: creating pages requested from the field, making changes to existing pages, and answering all messages directed to the main Waste Connections Page.
Redirect service questions to the field and employment questions to the careers website or regional recruiters.
Assist with creation of ads, monitor ad performance, and adjust as needed.
Review trends and monitor competitor pages.
Review contest posted daily on Workplace and maintain content for ease of use in Facebook Admins Group.
Manage Digital Asset Management System (DAM): moving photos from Google Drive and S Drive into DAM, sorting, making searchable, and creating portals for mass photo sharing and uploads.
Handle other ad hoc requests and department needs, including charity and volunteer events, and assist with graphics.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree.
1 - 3 years of experience in the field or related area.
Proficient with Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Well organized and able to work independently.
Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
Flexible schedule with weekend availability.

Nice to Have

Experience with Adobe, Canva or other graphic design tools.
Salesforce Social Studio experience.
Experience with Google Analytics and Google Ads.

Qualifications

Educational background: Bachelor's Degree.
Experience: 1-3 years in social media or related field.
