Edelman is looking for a Social Strategist to join our growing team of social strategists, practitioners, and community experts. Our Social Strategists demonstrate curiosity and collaboration with operational excellence in building social-first brands. The role involves supporting the overall vision of business, creating, managing, and implementing day-to-day strategic initiatives grounded in social behaviors and cultural context, and partnering with clients and team members to bring brands and campaigns to life across social channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Find engagement opportunities for audiences across Instagram, TikTok, X, and other channels as needed.
- Be an expert on the latest memes, cultural trends, trending songs, rising hashtags, tweet formats, and other viral moments.
- Identify trends across news sources, Twitter, TikTok, Instagram and other key platforms daily, then explain these trends considering complex client policies and considerations.
- Develop strategic POVs on the brand relevance of these trends and select opportunities to bring forward to clients.
- Work closely with creative counterparts to develop quick-turn ideas, copy, and creative.
- Work with strategy and analytics counterparts to provide learnings and recommendations based on content performance and audience reception.
- Exemplify the brand voice and tone in all community interactions.
- Craft copy for social posts and pitches.
- Maintain an accurate and current content calendar, ensuring all updates and changes are reflected in the master document.
- Manage and organize content and assets.
- Proactively flag opportunities for the brand and escalate issues as needed in a timely manner.
- Maintain and improve workflows and processes for community management and escalations.
- Oversee day-to-day social execution and operational excellence, including oversight of junior team members' work and providing coaching and feedback.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience at a social or digital agency, integrated marketing, or communications firm.
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Strong grasp of major social media platforms.
- Familiarity with social media management tools and platforms, including Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok; experience with Sprinklr, Sprout Social, Talkwalker, and/or Brandwatch.
- Secondary research skills, with experience analyzing trending news stories and consumer conversations to inform content and campaign ideas.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to adapt to fast-paced environments.
- Strong writing and editing skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across team functions.
Nice to Have
- Passion for social media from both a branding and cultural perspective.
- Understanding of content best practices across social channels.
- Knowledge of influencers and tastemakers across social platforms.
- Knowledge of Reddit, Discord, and Twitch.
- Experience working with influencers, creators, and talent partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

- Salary range of $72,000 - $95,000 annually, based on relevant factors.
