About the Role

Join Formlabs as a Software Engineer specializing in 3D Geometry to contribute to developing advanced desktop 3D printer software. The role involves working on complex geometric algorithms and integrating research into production, supporting the company's mission to bring professional 3D printing technology to a broad user base. The team focuses on innovative solutions such as path planning, mesh repair, support structure generation, and real-time failure detection, aiming to enhance the capabilities of the PreForm software used worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

Develop world class desktop 3D printer software with a focus on geometric algorithms
Work with R D teams to integrate newly researched features into the production PreForm codebase
Ship value-generating features to tens of thousands of users by implementing and optimizing a wide range of complex algorithms
Work with Product Management teams to define long-term feature roadmap

Requirements

Experience with object oriented design and development
Experience developing 3D graphics or computational geometry
Ready to collaborate with a wide range of technical disciplines, including Software, Hardware, and Design teams

Nice to Have

Experience with solid mechanics or FEM
Experience with image processing
