Job Description

About the Role

We are Lockheed Martin, working on the Simulation and Systems Labs (SSL) Systems Engineering team. SSLT is a highly innovative team responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining aircraft simulation systems and subsystems used for aircraft capability integration and weapons systems development from concept design through production and delivery. As a Software Engineer on our team, you will work on multiple Air Mobility and Maritime Missions (AMMM) projects, designing and developing software models in a simulation environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilizing standard engineering practices to develop models for complex software systems and applications
  • Collaborating within a cross-functional team, including systems engineering, operations engineering, hardware engineering, and project leadership to facilitate in technical discussions and estimates
  • Deriving and applying knowledge of various avionics, navigation, and communication Interface Control Documents
  • Developing modern Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) to integrate into simulation environments, providing an intuitive and user-friendly experience for operators and users
  • Developing innovative solutions to integrate components that have not been previously used together, often requiring outside-the-box thinking

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM/technical discipline or equivalent technical experience/combined education
  • Simulation and model software development experience
  • Experience developing software in Ada, C++, and Python

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with digital bus architectures
  • Experience developing software in Java
  • Experience with Gitlab
  • Experience with Jenkins
  • Experience with SW Test Pipelines
  • Avionics Background
  • Linux OS Experience

Qualifications

  • Security clearance at the Secret level
  • Must be a US Citizen
