Special Projects Coordinator

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain partnerships with correctional facilities, parole/probation offices, community-based organizations, employers, and training providers.
• Facilitate workshops, presentations, and informational sessions educating individuals on workforce development opportunities, job readiness, and supportive services.
• Conduct one-on-one assessments to determine individual needs and refer participants to appropriate resources.
• Assist with the coordination of job fairs, hiring events, and employer engagement activities tailored to individuals with criminal backgrounds.
• Advocate for fair hiring practices and promote second-chance employment opportunities within the community.
• Track outreach efforts, program enrollments, and participant outcomes ensuring organizational compliance.
• Exhibit flexibility in handling unexpected changes in work volume, emergencies, staffing needs, or other situations.
• Provide ongoing support and follow-up to program participants to ensure successful reintegration.
• Establish targets and develop an annual outreach plan to increase engagement under the direction of the Operator.
• Track and report on outreach plan and activities.
• Develop and maintain updated distribution lists.
• Provide the local community with updates in conjunction with the funder and Site Administrator(s).
• Support all partner staff.
• Train and support staff on messaging to potential participants seeking center services.
• Develop and distribute a newsletter for staff and employers.
• Maintain knowledge of Career Resource Center processes and provide coverage as needed.
• Assist in the coordination of outreach activities to the community both in-person and virtually.
• Work closely with the Operator, team, partners, and funder to help increase awareness of available services in the community.

Requirements

• High School diploma; Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in business, marketing, customer service or recruiting preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team.
• Knowledge of business, community, and current economic environment.
• Knowledge of effective outreach techniques and strategies including social media platforms.
• Strong organizational/administrative skills and demonstrated ability to communicate with people from diverse cultures and customs.
• Ability to plan and organize workflow.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Strong presentation skills with public speaking experience.
• Familiarity with the communities being served, with knowledge and understanding of local needs and resources.
• Demonstrated knowledge of labor market trends.
• Friendly, professional demeanor.
• Demonstrated computer skills with experience using word processing and spreadsheet software programs.
