Sr Azure Data Engineer

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor & support various data loads for our Enterprise Data Warehouse.
• Support business users accessing POWER BI dashboards & Datawarehouse tables, handling incidents and service requests within defined SLAs.
• Manage Azure resources including Databricks, Azure Data Factory pipelines, ADLS, etc.
• Build new ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Products like Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
• Help build best practices & processes.
• Coordinate with upstream/downstream teams to resolve data issues.
• Work with QA and Dev teams to ensure automated regressions are added to detect issues in future.
• Improve automated error handling to reduce manual interventions.
• Analyze processes and patterns to resolve similar unreported issues efficiently.
• Perform platform-related activities, including performance tuning of daily loads for system efficiency.
• Conduct impact analysis on changes initiated by source teams.

Requirements

• 3-4 years of experience in Data Engineering with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in Data warehouse design & development and ETL/ELT using Azure Data Factory (ADF).
• Experience in writing complex TSQL procedures on MPP platforms such as Synapse and Snowflake.
• Ability to analyze complex code to troubleshoot failures and recommend best practices around error handling and performance tuning.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in fast-paced operations/dev environments.
• Good understanding of business processes and underlying data analysis.
• Knowledge of dimensional and relational modeling.
• Detailed-oriented with the ability to plan, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of Azure cloud technologies.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience crafting, building, and deploying applications in a DevOps environment utilizing CI/CD tools.
• Understanding of dimensional and relational modeling.
• Relevant certifications.
• Basic knowledge of Power BI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or a related field.
