The role involves serving as a Principal Consultant in the utilities sector focusing on Geographic Information Systems (GIS), leading and managing GIS consulting engagements, and providing strategic guidance and technical expertise to clients in the utilities industry.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients in the utilities sector
Understand client needs and provide tailored GIS solutions
Conduct business requirement gathering and analysis for GIS projects
Lead GIS project teams and ensure timely delivery of project milestones
Oversee the implementation of GIS solutions ensuring they meet client specifications and industry standards
Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively
Provide technical leadership in GIS technologies and methodologies
Develop and implement GIS strategies that align with client business goals
Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in GIS and utilities
Design and architect GIS solutions for utilities including Smart Grid and Smart Metering
Develop proof of concept demonstrations and product selection consulting
Implement proactive outage and maintenance alert notifications using GIS
Identify industry trends and issues affecting the utilities sector
Handle digital transformation solutions such as Smart Metering Grid network operations and predictive analytics
Provide insights and recommendations based on industry’s best practices

Requirements

Extensive experience in the utilities sector with a focus on GIS
Proven track record in consulting and project management
Strong technical expertise in GIS technologies and tools
Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, and other relevant tools
Familiarity with data analysis tools like SQL, Tableau, and Power BI
Knowledge of Smart Grid technologies and Smart Metering systems
Excellent communication and client management skills
Ability to lead and mentor project teams
Bachelor's degree required; Engineering or Management degree strongly preferred
Must be legally authorized to work in the US without employer sponsorship

Nice to Have

Experience with digital transformation in utilities
Knowledge of industry-specific standards and regulations
Experience with Smart Grid and Smart Metering implementations
