UKG is seeking a Sr. Director, Software Engineering (Reporting & Analytics) to oversee the development and delivery of reporting and analytics solutions. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the software engineering strategy for reporting and analytics in alignment with UKG's overall business objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing software engineering team, collaborating with product and engineering teams and senior leadership to provide technical insights and recommendations.
  • Work cross-functionally across teams to drive and implement best practices and innovative solutions to maximize the value of reporting and analytics capabilities.
  • Oversee the development, testing, and deployment of reporting and analytics solutions, ensuring high quality and performance.
  • Analyze data and trends to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Develop and implement a robust data governance framework to ensure data quality, security, and compliance.
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of data analytics tools and systems, leveraging technology to automate and improve processes.
  • Support reporting and analytics initiatives across departments, fostering collaboration and providing training on best practices.
  • Develop and deliver regular reports and dashboards, providing actionable insights to support strategic decision-making and monitor KPIs.
  • Define quality and delivery standards for Business Intelligence solutions, aligning with customer needs and business objectives.
  • Translate complex business requirements into scalable, intuitive BI solutions such as reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
  • Evaluate and recommend BI tools, emerging trends, technologies, and architectural patterns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field; MBA or relevant certificate preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role managing teams focused on Business Intelligence, data warehousing, or data analytics.
  • Hands-on experience leading the design, development, and deployment of complex enterprise BI solutions, including data modeling, ETL/ELT, data warehousing, and data visualization.
  • Deep understanding of data governance, data quality, and data security principles and their implementation within BI solutions.
  • Experience with modern BI platforms and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Qlik, Sisense) and supporting data architectures.
  • Proficiency with cloud-based data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) and building BI applications on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of integrating enterprise systems via APIs, events, or other methods to source data for BI.
  • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) in deploying BI components or data pipelines.
  • Proven ability to attract, hire, mentor, and lead high-performance BI and data teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering complex BI projects on time and within budget.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications
