About the Role

A Senior Project Manager is a thought leader in project management, guiding the way projects are managed at Sarah Cannon Research Institute (SCRI), a subsidiary of McKesson. The role involves handling a variety of projects including high visibility, ambiguous, complex, and high priority projects with executive oversight, as well as identifying methods to enhance project management capabilities and processes. Key Responsibilities

  • Direct complex projects involving cross-functional teams and matrix partners, leveraging organizational expertise as needed.
  • Lead various projects such as launching new products and services, application development, systems integration, operational efficiency improvements, process reengineering, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Develop and oversee financial forecasts, ensuring ongoing reconciliation of resources and project expenditures.
  • Lead continuous risk and issues management processes, working with leaders to develop mitigation measures.
  • Manage all aspects of the project lifecycle within a matrixed organization, overseeing all phases of a project.
  • Determine appropriate communication modes, ensuring timely, succinct, and audience-tailored communication.
  • Define and track project milestones, develop and report on an integrated delivery plan.
  • Facilitate large-scale, multi-disciplinary planning sessions and executive-level project meetings.
  • Resolve conflicts among stakeholders, project team members, and sponsors through interest-based negotiation.
  • Exercise discretion in managing sensitive business and patient information.
  • Create project artifacts and mentor colleagues to influence and build strategic relationships.
  • Manage project scope to ensure business requirements are met within time, cost, and quality parameters.
  • Brief key stakeholders on project aspects, gather information from multiple sources, and lead organizational assessments.
  • Support contract execution and vendor management, propose process improvements, and represent projects in governance forums.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of project management experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Knowledge of healthcare, information technology, and project management.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder partnership skills.
  • Excellent judgment, critical thinking, and risk management abilities.
  • Proven ability to build relationships, lead teams, and navigate a highly matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated experience with complex project delivery and change management.
  • Ability to influence, negotiate, and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Nice to Have

  • PMP Certification.
  • Agile Project Management and Scrum Certification.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
