About the Role

The Sr. Manager, Commercial Project Management contributes to the development and execution of complex product launches and commercial initiatives, serving as a functional area expert in strategic project management support. This role enhances enterprise launch processes, manages project plans and dashboards, and communicates launch execution status to key stakeholders. The position requires leading high-complexity commercial product launch teams, driving cross-functional alignment, and ensuring adherence to project requirements. The ideal candidate possesses excellent project management capabilities, strong organizational skills, in a fast-paced environment, while contributing to continuous improvement efforts and organizational success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops and leads large and multiple cross-functional and cross-organizational product launches and commercial initiatives with high resource requirements, risk and/or complexity
  • Establishes operational objectives and work plans for product launches and commercial initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and timely execution
  • Develops and maintains comprehensive project plans, including scope, deliverables, timelines, and resources, with a focus on launch readiness
  • Drives effective communication and collaboration across multiple functions (e.g., Commercial, Medical Affairs, R&D, Regulatory, Supply Operations) and external partners
  • Identifies, assesses, and mitigates project risks and issues, implementing solutions to keep projects on track
  • Oversees efficient, action-oriented program meetings and cross-functional communication, ensuring alignment with internal functional groups
  • Contributes to launch playbooks, tools, and templates to ensure scalability and efficiency for future launches or commercial initiatives
  • Monitors project progress, critical path activities, and key performance indicators, providing insights that inform strategy and planning
  • Drives improvements for project management discipline based on understanding of business needs and industry trends
  • Develops standards, tools, and knowledge requirements for commercial project management functional area
  • Understands the up- and downstream impact of changes and proposals that often result in company-wide process improvements
  • Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments
  • Leads multiple projects/initiatives requiring cross-team collaboration and external collaboration
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences or similar field, and 10+ years relevant commercial / marketing experience within the biotechnology / pharmaceutical industry, specializing in Commercial program management, including product launch planning & execution
  • MBA or other Master's Degree preferred and 8+ years of related experience
  • Proven track record in managing complex, multi-faceted projects simultaneously, with a focus on risk identification, mitigation, and change management
  • In-depth understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements, product approval processes, and commercial launch readiness/execution
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority and effectively convey complex ideas to diverse audiences
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Microsoft Project) and advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated ability to create inclusive, empowered teams operating with high standards of alignment, trust, accountability, and collaboration
  • Strategic thinker with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of summarizing and presenting complex information concisely
  • Proven ability to manage conflict, drive consensus, and promote decision-making
  • Adaptable self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments with minimal supervision
  • Experience in building and managing comprehensive cross-functional plans in early-stage or new launch scenarios with limited infrastructure
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management qualification is a plus

  • Annual base salary in the range of $154,900.00-$224,400.00, depending on various factors
  • Annual bonus with a target of 30% of the earned base salary
