At Schwab, you're empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us “challenge the status quo” and transform the finance industry together. Schwab's Digital Wealth and Advisor Platforms team is seeking a Product Manager with a Wealth Management background. The Product Manager (individual contributor) will identify opportunities and develop strategies for digital platforms and capabilities used to deliver wealth management. This individual will be responsible for driving capability research and assessments, evaluating opportunities, and developing future state concepts for advice and wealth management user experiences. The Product Manager will coordinate user experience effort ideations with cross-enterprise partners, fleshing out vision and driving clear understanding of feasibility, opportunity, and trade-offs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of users and leverage data in the design of new processes and interactions to enhance the overall user experience.
  • Leverage wealth management experience to design effective user and client journeys.
  • Set a digital product vision, and a roadmap to get there, in partnership with key stakeholders at Schwab.
  • Develop frameworks and drive decisions on which opportunities to prioritize.
  • Influence leaders and peers through verbal and written communication to gain alignment on key decisions to serve advisors and clients.
  • Standup programs to define requirements and facilitate delivery of digital experiences, including working with relevant technology domains and engaging in discussions around trade-offs.
  • Analyze existing and future internal tools (proprietary and third-party) and develop strategies for creating and integrating experiences for the future.
  • May manage development efforts and technology scrum teams: writing user stories, refining the backlog, and working with User Experience designers.

Requirements

  • Wealth management experience: You have directly delivered or developed products that supported the delivery of wealth management such as investment and retirement planning.
  • Structured problem solving: You can bring order to an ambiguous problem, breaking it down into its key components and providing a framework that helps focus our thoughts and energy on what matters most.
  • Analysis / decision support: You can identify the key pieces of information needed to make a decision and can either find answers yourself or identify partners who will help you get those answers; this includes structuring and executing quantitative analysis.
  • Storytelling and executive communication: You can communicate a strategy through executive-level PowerPoint materials, tailoring your message to the audience and telling a compelling story.
  • Sequencing work into a series of steps: You can identify current status, desired destination, and the steps or actions to reach that destination.
  • Planning and executing large & complex projects: You can organize workstreams into a program structure with timelines, stakeholders, and governance, and facilitate execution by working with partners to define client experience, detail key requirements, and hand off to relevant technology domains.

Nice to Have

  • Self-starter with strong organizational and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make decisions and progress in the face of ambiguity and overlapping priorities.
  • A positive attitude, solid work ethic, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of comfort with technology.
  • Bachelor and postgraduate degrees.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor and postgraduate degrees.

Benefits & Perks

  • 401(k) with company match and Employee stock purchase plan.
  • Paid time for vacation, volunteering, and 28-day sabbatical after every 5 years of service for eligible positions.
  • Paid parental leave and family building benefits.
