About the Role

The Sr. Product Manager is responsible for assessing market needs and inspiring cross-functional product teams to find the fastest way to achieve value around those needs. Specifically, this role will support one of the GenAI platforms within the larger Home Depot AI ecosystem. The role focuses on delivering business value to drive sales, improve efficiency, and improve customer satisfaction through the implementation of GenAI tools supporting Home Depot knowledge workers. Within their designated enterprise product line, Sr. Product Managers work closely with teams of developers, UX, and business partners. They support in-depth business reviews, communicate and present across all levels of the organization, and support cross-functional product teams. The Sr. Product Manager must be able to work at both strategic and tactical levels, generating innovative ideas for growth and analyzing data to solve problems. They are often responsible for higher-profile or larger scope products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Seek to empathize with and understand the end user deeply and use that knowledge to determine the fastest path to deliver value
  • Translate business goals and end user needs into product strategy; communicate direction and product priorities to the development team, other matrixed teams, and third-party partners
  • Identify goals, metrics, and analytics to determine product value; continually make recommendations and refinements to the product backlog based on learnings
  • Manage and groom the product backlog; make future decisions based on the value that will be delivered
  • Partner with Finance to understand financial needs and assist in the creation of business plans for new opportunities
  • Monitor research and the competitive landscape to recommend the best solutions and ensure products remain or become best in class
  • Ensure that product directions balance user needs and business goals of driving sales, improving efficiency, and enhancing customer satisfaction
  • Formulate, test, and refine assumptions and hypotheses through user research and testing
  • Document, review, and ensure that all quality and change control standards are met
  • Create, prioritize, and accept user stories; incorporate them into release planning
  • Make product decisions that drive value on a daily basis
  • Identify and consider pros, cons, issues, obstacles, dependencies, and value associated with features and enhancements
  • Participate in standups, iteration planning sessions, product demos, and retrospectives
  • Condense complex technical concepts into non-technical language for stakeholders
  • Foster collaboration with team members (Engineering, UX, etc.) to drive value and resolve impediments
  • Act as a proponent of modern software development practices
  • Advocate for the end user and stakeholder by understanding user needs
  • Work with the product team to assess progress, disseminate lessons learned, and plan next steps
  • Manage cross-functional team and stakeholder expectations to execute on product strategy
  • Provide education to requestors to determine prioritization based on tangible benefits and user experience
  • Guide more junior team members in strategy, alignment, analysis, and execution tasks
  • Participate in and contribute to learning activities around modern software design and development practices
  • Participate in talent acquisition, development, and retention activities in support of the team

Requirements

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience supporting enterprise GenAI tools/platforms such as Glean, Coveo, Google Agentspace, Atlassian Rovo, Kore.ai
  • Experience using Jira, Jira Align in day-to-day management of team activities
  • Experience with Large Language Models and general AI concepts, agentic AI
  • Experience working with SaaS tools/vendors and aligning to vendor product roadmaps
  • Proficiency in creating, prioritizing, and accepting user stories
  • Proficiency in conducting user research and testing to understand needs
  • Proficiency in identifying goals, metrics, and analytics to measure product value
  • Proficiency in conducting competitive research and analysis
  • The knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field

Nice to Have

  • Experience in project/program management or change management
  • Experience guiding junior team members through product management fundamentals
  • Experience working as a Product Manager in a modern software development enterprise environment
  • Proficiency in working in a fast-paced, fluid environment with shifting priorities
  • Proficiency in communicating and influencing at all organizational levels
  • Proficiency in modern software development practices and agile methodologies, specifically XP principles
  • Experience supporting enterprise GenAI tools/platforms such as Glean, Coveo, Google Agentspace, Atlassian Rovo, Kore.ai

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field
