Sr. Program Manager

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Defines, plans and drives projects and program plans based on management and senior technical guidance
• Scope technical feasibility of new Products by clarifying and analyzing requirements with SW/HW Architects, Technical Leads and Engineers
• Develop program schedule by considering various Driver, SW Stack components and HW/FW dependencies, negotiate and create a staffing plan that supports the schedule
• Building, creating, and maintaining a well-developed, managed and executed program plan
• Establish formal program management artifacts including a plan of record, statements of work, project/program timelines, budget, scope, performance, and quality KPIs
• Excellence in resource planning
• Plan for risks in the development path, identify prevention methods, and address them to save on engineering costs
• Work with senior executives to address the needs and requirements from AMD's Engineering, Product Management and Customer Engineering organizations

Requirements

• Solid knowledge of technical program management
• Outstanding track record of delivering sophisticated software/hardware programs
• Ability to drive a schedule for business planning towards growth that align to business strategy
• Good understanding of requirements management, documentation management, and defect management
• Ability to grasp concepts during discussions and turn minutes into action items
• Effective communication of concepts and processes with stakeholders
• Analytical, self-motivated, organized, detailed-oriented and results-oriented
• Experience working in a high-pressure environment with competing priorities and tight turnaround times
• Engineering background preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Project, JIRA, Confluence and Excel is an asset
• Experience with Agile methodology
• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
• Formal Project Management education, PMP certified

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
