About the Role

The Staff Product Marketing Manager, Security at Okta will help accelerate the company's security journey by telling Okta's security story in a compelling, cohesive, and relevant way. The role involves elevating Okta's profile as a security company and evangelizing the need for identity as security, especially in the AI era. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Product Marketing, the candidate will balance inputs from stakeholders, market insights, and customer needs to formulate a clear point of view, while also being self-motivated and execution-oriented.

Key Responsibilities

Build the go-to-market strategy on how to evangelize the need for identity as security, and how to secure the new wave of AI, including defining investment strategies for events, thought leadership content, and targeted campaigns.
Create differentiated security messaging for sales and customers that conveys Okta's security value proposition.
Build security thought leadership programs through white papers, research studies, reports, etc.
Represent Okta at security events to raise the company's profile and establish a unique point of view, including defining event participation and messaging.
Support security product launches and new content campaigns across the company to generate awareness and impact.
Work cross-functionally with corporate security, business technology, product management, engineering, sales, and enablement.

Requirements

6+ years experience as a product marketer in cybersecurity or identity management.
Experience driving large scale, company-impacting launches.
Experience writing (or leading) security-focused thought leadership and customer-facing content.
Ability to manage senior stakeholders with differing priorities.
High sense of urgency.
A background in security software and an understanding of the security landscape.

Nice to Have

CS Degree or technical background.
Cloud Security Experience.

Qualifications

Experience in cybersecurity or identity management.
Proven success in large-scale product launches.
Strong writing skills for thought leadership and customer content.
Experience managing senior stakeholders.
Security software background and understanding of the security landscape.
