About the Role

The Staff UI Engineer role at ServiceNow involves building high-quality, scalable, and reusable UI code, contributing to product design and implementation, and mentoring colleagues. Key Responsibilities

  • Build high-quality, clean, scalable, and reusable UI code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes such as code reviews and unit testing.
  • Work with product owners to understand detailed requirements and own the code from design through implementation, test automation, and delivery of high-quality products.
  • Design software that is simple to use, allowing customers to extend and customize functionality to meet their specific needs.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of new products and features while enhancing existing product suites.
  • Mentor colleagues and promote knowledge-sharing within the team.
  • Focus on highly reusable and modular UI/UX frontend components and patterns to accelerate development for other teams and customers.

Requirements

  • Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving.
  • 8+ years of experience with Javascript, Java, or a similar object-oriented language.
  • Passion for JavaScript and the Web as a platform, reusability, and componentization.
  • Experience with data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance/scale considerations.
  • Experience with modern UI frameworks like Angular, React, or Vue.
  • Analytical and design skills.
  • Ability to manage projects with material technical risk at a team level.
  • Strong design, collaboration, and communication skills to work cross-team.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the industry.
