About the Role

Meijer offers an 11-week Store Analytics Internship Program designed to challenge interns with real projects that impact the business. The program provides diverse personal and professional development opportunities, including interaction with senior leaders, impactful projects, professional training, networking events, and exposure to various areas such as Store Support, Labor Analytics, and Information Technology. The internship aims to develop skills in data, analytics, and reporting within a retail environment, fostering growth and potential career advancement in store analytics.

Key Responsibilities

Work with the Store Analytics team to drive store productivity and operational improvement through data, analytics, and reporting.
Assist in enhancing the store operations reporting strategy, including day-to-day review, ad hoc report creation, and partnering with IT for report creation and updates.
Implement analytical techniques, tools, and scorecards to drive business results and support fact-based decision making.
Apply advanced quantitative methods, data mining, modeling, and analytical tools to solve complex business problems across Store Operations.
Deliver final presentations to senior executives and participate in professional development and networking events.

Requirements

Progress toward a bachelor's or advanced degree in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field; 3.0+ GPA preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and other office products.
Working knowledge of ETL, Python, Databricks, SQL, Alteryx, Power BI, or similar programming skills.
Problem solving skills, including probing sources for answers and interpreting data.
Active curiosity and enjoyment in gathering and analyzing data to identify opportunities and risks.
Customer focus and ability to meet expectations of internal and external customers.
Relationship skills to create positive working relationships with team members, leadership, and other stakeholders.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Nice to Have

Experience with data mining, modeling, and analytical tools.
Experience or coursework related to store operations or retail analytics.

Qualifications

Progress toward a bachelor's or advanced degree in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science or a related field.
GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
