About the Role

Strategy Product Development Manager I (US-O) at DHL Supply Chain is responsible for business strategy, industry research, and product development within the logistics sector. The role involves contributing to the development and evolution of new service offerings, working closely with various internal teams to ensure solutions align with business strategy, and staying current with industry trends to provide innovative solutions. The organization emphasizes teamwork, associate development, training, and continuous improvement in a business casual environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads sector/business unit planning activities, ensuring strategy is refreshed annually with quarterly reviews and 3-5 year re-plans, and collaborates with global teams and DHL tools.
  • Works with marketing to conduct industry research, competitive intelligence, branding, thought leadership, and customer event activities, including leading content development and conference participation.
  • Researches market demands, new service developments, and gains understanding of solutions implemented at existing sites and pursued by business development.
  • Develops and maintains solution set capabilities, including detailed information on tools, cost models, productivity metrics, value propositions, process maps, and implementation plans.
  • Collects lessons learned and productivity metrics from operations and customer surveys to ensure solutions evolve with industry standards and meet customer needs.
  • Creates business plans for new service offerings, validates through marketplace research, confirms operational capabilities, and develops sales and go-to-market plans.
  • Participates in the analysis and selection of new tools, working with IT and vendors to evaluate and support solutions, including publishing systems and creating sales collateral.
  • Performs voice-of-customer research by engaging with clients to uncover needs, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Works closely with sector leaders to execute strategic initiatives and support critical business plan delivery.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain and the specified industry.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in strategic planning/execution, product development, or innovation.
  • Knowledge of industry research, market demands, and solution development.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including solution development, IT, operations, and marketing.

Nice to Have

  • Master's Degree in logistics, operations management, or industrial engineering.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (required).
  • Master's Degree in logistics, operations management, or industrial engineering (preferred).
  • At least 5 years of supply chain experience.
  • At least 3 years in strategic planning, product development, or innovation.
